What is a guardian home? A guardian home is a great opportunity for a person/ or family to enjoy the "pick of the litter" puppy/dog. These dogs are usually the best. The puppy/ dog remains the property of the breeder until the end of the breeding career and then become the guardian home dog forever after. Age depending on the gender of dog.
GUARDIAN HOME PROGRAM
Here at Pure Poodle Puppy Love we strive to provide only the best for our adult breeding dogs who serve as loving members of our family. To ensure we are able to give these dogs the best possible home life while being able to expand and produce the best possible puppies, we like to limit the number of dogs we have living in our home. We are now offering a guardian program where qualified families will receive a top-quality puppy/dog for free while we retain the breeding rights.
Our Guardian families are expected to properly care for their new puppy/dog physically and financially. We will cover all costs associated to breeding and care for/own all litters produced by guardian family dogs. Basically, you will get an adorable dog to add to your family for a very low cost, and we get to use him/her in our breeding program. Pretty simple! Guardian dogs will remain your forever family pet but will come to us every so often to sire/whelp their litters.

Owning a female guardian dog:
Guardian homes of females will communicate every heat cycle. After the first cycle, the breeder will inform the Guardian home when they are to start checking for signs of the next heat because knowledge of DAY ONE is crucial for breeding. At the breeder’s request, the female will then be required for mating’s on specific days.Keeping the female for the duration is always offered or returning the female after each mating to the Guardian home to rest is recommended. After breeding is complete the female will remain in the Guardians home up to one week prior to whelping. Once one week out from whelping, the female will be brought to the Breeder’s house for 7 weeks before returning back to the Guardian home. The Breeder will supply extra food required for the females increase of appetite. The Guardian family is welcome to come for visits during the time of the females nursing stay after at least two weeks from puppies’ date of whelp. Breeder has the right to breed the female up to a maximum of 5 litters. After this she will be spayed at breeders’ expense and ownership is fully transferred to the Guardian Family (usually at about 5 years of age). This will relinquish all of the Guardianship requirements and then the Guardian dog will forever live with its Guardian family as a family pet.
Owning a male guardian dog:
Males return to us whenever their services are required and may stay with us for their service duration. Guardians must understand the temperament of an intact male offering a safe situation at all times. The male must be keep away from intact females in heat and away for other males that could potentially arouse in negative conflict. Males typically retire at about 6-7 years of age. When they retire from breeding, they are neutered at our expense and ownership is fully transferred to the Guardian Home. This will relinquish all of the Guardianship requirements and then the Guardian dog will forever live with its Guardian family as a pet.
-For Standard Poodles: Hair should be trimmed as needed in a maintainable poodle trim with hair away from eyes.
